Lesson 6. SPIRITUAL GIFTS
. POWER AND LOVE IN GIFTS.
(A) GENERAL PRINCIPLES OF USE
1 Cor 12:1 Peri\ de\ tw=n pneumatikw=n, a)delfoi/, ou) qe/lw u(ma=$ a)gnoei€n.(GHB)
ILLUSTRATION: fasting for 40 DAYS: already have gifts, but need to use them in Love.
John 1:16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
John 3:34. For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure(unto him.) (KJV)
(1) LOVE AND GIFTS
(a) LOVE is NOT one of 9 Manifestations of the Spirit, but WAY to use the Gifts.
1 Cor 12:31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.
NOT LOVE OR Gifts but LOVE AND Gifts working together LIVING BIBLE
1 Cor 13:1 If I had the gift of being able to speak in other languages without learning them and could speak in every language there is in all of heaven and earth, but didn't love others, I would only be making noise2 If I had the gift of prophecy and knew all about what is going to happen in the future, knew everything about everything, but didn't love others, what good would it do? Even if I had the gift of faith so that I could speak to a mountain and make it move, I would still be worth nothing at all without love.3 If I gave everything I have to poor people, and if I were burned alive for preaching the Gospel but didn't love others, it would be of no value whatever.
THIS SAME LOVE MOTIVATED JESUS
COMPASSION, COMPASSIONATE
2. splanchnizomai ^4697^, "to be moved as to one's inwards (splanchna), to be moved with compassion, to yearn with compassion," is frequently recorded of Christ towards the multitude and towards individual sufferers, <Matt. 9:36; 14:14; 15:32; 18:27; 20:34; Mark 1:41; 6:34; 8:2; 9:22> (of the appeal of a father for a demon-possessed son); <Luke 7:13; 10:33>; of the father in the parable of the Prodigal Son, <15:20>. (Moulton and Milligan consider the verb to have been coined in the Jewish dispersion).#
(from Vine's Expository Dictionary of Biblical Words)
Matt 14:14 And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

Mark 9:22 And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.
Raising dead:
Luke 7:13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.
Luke 7:14 And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.
Luke 7:15 And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother. (KJV )

(2) LOVE IN ACTION THROUGH GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.
GOD IS LOVES SO THAT EVERY ACTIVITY OF THE SPIRIT WILL BE A MANIFESTING OF DIVINE LOVE.
1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. (KJV)
LIVING BIBLE shows this FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT
Gal 5:14 For the whole Law can be summed up in this one command: "Love others as you love yourself."
15 But if instead of showing love among yourselves you are always critical and catty, watch out! Beware of ruining each other.
16 I advise you to obey only the Holy Spirit's instructions. He will tell you where to go and what to do, and then you won't always be doing the wrong things your evil nature wants you to.
17 For we naturally love to do evil things that are just the opposite from the things that the Holy Spirit tells us to do; and the good things we want to do when the Spirit has his way with us are just the opposite of our natural desires. These two forces within us are constantly fighting each other to win control over us, and our wishes are never free from their pressures.
The Gifts of the Spirit should never be used for financial profit, self-glory,self-pleasing or weapons of antagonism, animosity or bitterness of personal spirit. c.f. Baalam
Rev 2:14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.

(I) SPIRITUAL GIFTS WITHOUT LOVE, LEADS TO EMPTY SOULS (.LIVING BIBLE)
1 Cor 13:1 If I had the gift of being able to speak in other languages without learning them and could speak in every language there is in all of heaven and earth, but didn't love others, I would only be making noise.
2 If I had the gift of prophecy and knew all about what is going to happen in the future, knew everything about everything, but didn't love others, what good would it do? Even if I had the gift of faith so that I could speak to a mountain and make it move, I would still be worth nothing at all without love.

(II) SATAN has profound spiritual Gifts without love and can imitate spiritual power BASED ON PRIDE
ISA 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. KJV)
Acts 8:9 But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:
(KJV)
Acts 8:14-24
14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,
19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.
20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.
22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.
23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.
24 Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me.

2.DIRECTIONS FOR MEETINGS.
Use of spiritual gifts in public should be done in love
After adequate private preparation, the Spirit-filled Believer in
the public meetings, is given in 1 Cor 14. some of the COMMANDS OF THE LORD: (Living Bible)
1 Cor 14:37 You who claim to have the gift of prophecy or any other special ability from the Holy Spirit should be the first to realise that what I am saying is a commandment from the Lord himself.(TLB)
(A) SPEAKER IN TONGUES SHOULD SEEK AND EXPECT GIFT OF INTERPRETATION
1 Cor 14:1 3 Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray
that he may interpret.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SIGN AND GIFT OF TONGUES.
(B) PRAYING, SPEAKING OR SINGING SHOULD BE DONE IN THE NATIVE LANGUAGE WHERE THERE IS NO INTERPRETATION GIVEN
1 Cor 14:14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. 15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
:16 Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest? :17 For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified. 18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all: :19 Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.
(C) TONGUES SHOULD ONLY BE USED AS A SIGN WHERE THE LANGUAGE IS UNDERSTOOD BY THE HEARERS
Otherwise the meeting will give an impression of madness, and the resulting persecution will be the fault of the Church in not using the Gift correctly
1 Cor 14:23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?

(D) THOSE ANXIOUS TO HAVE GIFTS IN A GOSPEL MEETING, SHOULD SEEK THE GIFT OF PROPHECY, WHICH IS CAPABLE OF REVEALING THE SECRET THOUGHTS AND LIVES OF SINNERS
1 Cor 14:25 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.
Illustration: 2 strange women in Holywood. Man walke din off the street at NEW DAY on Saturday.
This deep level of personal prophecy is generally lacking in many meetings today, but as we saw in the case of the Woman at the Well, its convicting power is mighty
John 4:17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:
:18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly. 19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet. :28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men, :29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?
:30 Then they went out of the city, and came unto him. :
39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for
the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.

(E) THERE SHOULD BE A GENERAL SHARING OF GIFTS AMONG ALL THE CHURCH, INSTEAD OF THE MINISTRY OF THE SPIRIT BEING LEFT TO ONE MAN
1 Cor 14:26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
ILLUSTRATION: SINGAPORE CHURCH AND PENESECOLA AG
(i) "let ONE INTERPRET" DOES NOT MEAN A SET INTERPRETER, but in the Greek "one person" should interpret, NOT TWO at one time.
1 Cor 14:27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret. (KJV)
1 Corinthians 14:26-33 PP2 Matthew Henry
1. As to speaking in an unknown tongue, he orders that no more than two or three should do it at one meeting, and this not altogether, but successively, one after another. And even this was not to be done unless there were some one to interpret (v. 27-28), some other interpreter besides himself, who spoke; for to speak in an unknown tongue what he himself was afterwards to interpret could only be for ostentation. But, if another were present who could interpret, two miraculous gifts might be exercised at once, and thereby the church edified, and the faith of the hearers confirmed at the same time. But, if there were none to interpret, he was to be silent in the church, and only exercise his gift between God and himself (v. 28), that is (as I think) in private, at home; for all who are present at public worship should join in it, and not be at their private devotions in public assemblies. Solitary devotions are out of time and place when the church has met for social worship.
(ii) THE JUDGEMENT OF INTERPRETATION AND PROPHECY SHOULD
BE BY OTHERS HAVING THE SAME REVELATION SIMULTANEOUSLY
1 Cor 14:29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.
1 Cor 14:30 If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.
(Where this happens, those who do NOT speak out, will still know they have had the same message, and the resulting confirmation of the Word of God goes back to the O.T. PRINCIPLE of two or three witnesses.
Deut 17:6 At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he
that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.
Deut 19:15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.
Isaiah 8:2 And I took unto me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.
Matt 18:16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
2 Cor 13:1 This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.
1 Tim 5:19 Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.
2 Tim 2:2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
Heb 10:28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
Rev 11:3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
THOSE COMING INTO THE GIFTS WILL THEN SEE THE GENUINE NATURE OF WHAT HAS BEEN GIVEN THEM BY THE LORD, AS THEY SPEAK IT OUT FOR THE OTHER WITNESSES TO HEAR.
Illustration: HOSUE GROUP SHARING.
(J) ALL CAN PROPHESY ONE BY ONE in the Meeting
1 Cor 14:31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.
(I) Everyone gets something from God when the Spirit falls on a meeting, and even the youngest believer, should be encouraged to launch out as the Spirit leads.
THE EARLY CHURCH DID THINGS TOGETHER: LEARNING MUST BE SOCIAL !
Acts 1:14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
Acts 2:32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
Acts 2:44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
Acts 2:45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
Acts 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
Acts 4:33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
Acts 5:12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch.
Acts 8:1 And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.
Acts 10:33 Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.
Acts 10:44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
Acts 14:27 And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.
Acts 17:26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

(II) THE SAME FAMILY PATTERN WAS ADOPTED BY PAUL IN THE GENTILE CHURCHES
Acts 18:23 And after he had spent some time there, he departed, and went over all the country of Galatia and Phrygia in order, strengthening all the disciples.
Acts 20:32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
Acts 20:36 And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all. :37 And they all wept sore, and fell on Paul's neck, and kissed him,38 Sorrowing most of all for the words which he spake, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him unto the ship.
Acts 21:5 And when we had accomplished those days, we departed and went our way; and they all brought us on our way, with wives and children, till we were out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore, and prayed.
(f) A FULL STOP SHOULD BE MADE WHEN THE ANOINTING MOVES OFF, TO ALLOW THE MEETING TO CONTINUE with OTHER SPEAKERS
1 Corinthians 14:26-33 MATTHEW HENRY.
(2.) he orders that, if any assistant prophet had a revelation, while another was prophesying, the other should hold his peace, be silent (v. 30), before the inspired assistant uttered his revelation. Indeed, it is by many understood that the former speaker should immediately hold his peace. But this seems unnatural, and not so well to agree with the context. For why must one that was speaking by inspiration be immediately silent upon another man's being inspired, and suppress what was dictated to him by the same Spirit? Indeed, he who had the new revelation might claim liberty of speech in his turn, upon producing his vouchers; but why must liberty of speech be taken from him who was speaking before, and his mouth stopped, when he was delivering the dictates of the same Spirit, and could produce the same vouchers? Would the Spirit of God move one to speak, and, before he had delivered what he had to say, move another to interrupt him, and put him to silence? This seems to me an unnatural thought. Nor is it more agreeable to the context, and the reason annexed (v. 31): That all might prophesy, one by one, or one after another, which could not be where any one was interrupted and silenced before he had done prophesying; but might easily be if he who was afterwards inspired forbore to deliver his new revelation till the former prophet had finished what he had to say. And, to confirm this sense, the apostle quickly adds, The spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets (v. 33); that is, the spiritual gifts they have leave them still possessed of their reason, and capable of using their own judgement in the exercise of them. Divine inspirations are not, like the diabolical possessions of heathen priests, violent and ungovernable, and prompting them to act as if they were beside themselves; but are sober and calm, and capable of regular conduct. The man inspired by the Spirit of God may still act the man, and observe the rules of natural order and decency in delivering his revelations. His spiritual gift is thus far subject to his pleasure, and to be managed by his discretion.
GOD MOVES IN ORDER AND NOT CONFUSION ! 1 Cor.14:33
James 3:16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

6. HOW CAN WE KNOW TRUE GUIDANCE ? (A) BAPTISM INTO THE SPIRIT brings us under the control of God, and gives GUIDANCE for other Gifts to work.
(B ) HEALING for example, develops after Baptism in the Spirit.
(i) SIGN OF HEALING is when two Believers AGREE. (Disciples healed sick even before Pentecost)
Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; (KJV)
Mark 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. (KJV)
(ii) GIFT OF HEALING is when man of God is guided to heal somebody not believing.
Acts 3:2 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is
called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; (KJV)
Acts 3:3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. (KJV)
Acts 3:4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. (KJV)
Acts 3:5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. (KJV)
Acts 3:6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. (KJV)
Acts 3:7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. (KJV)
Acts 3:8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. (KJV)
Apostles had passed him on previous occasions without being led to pray for his healing.
GIFT OF HEALING may operate through Christ in YOU feeling the
same sickness in your own body.
Heb 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities;
(C) SEEKING GUIDANCE.
After Baptism Jesus was led to seek guidance for this new ministry.
Matt 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be
tempted of the devil. (KJV)
Matt 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. (KJV)
(c) GUIDANCE IS GIVEN BY MEANS OF :
(i) SCRIPTURES.
Christ was obviously studying O.T. Scriptures following Israel's "Baptism" in the Red Sea and journey through wilderness, and his replies to the Devil are all from these books.
After blessing often comes a PERIOD OF TESTING to make us depend more on the WORD OF GOD and less on our feelings.
All Gifts will NOT contradict moving of the Spirit in the Bible.
Isaiah 8:19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? (KJV)
Isaiah 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. (KJV)
(ii) SURRENDER TO SOLITUDE.
Although Gifts may only be ministered in meetings, prayer IN THE SECRET PLACE IS ESSENTIAL FOR GUIDANCE ON THEIR USE.
Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. (KJV)
Mark 1:36 And Simon and they that were with him followed after him. (KJV)
Mark 1:37 And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for thee. (KJV)
Mark 1:38 And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth. (KJV)
A Morning QUIET TIME with God is essential.
A quiet and confident decision is always best, made after a time of prayer.
(iii) SELF DENIAL.
(1) Matt 4:2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungered (KJV)
Fasting must include denial of demands of SELF in every form, for waiting on God with right motives, (cf. Isaiah 58)
(2) Never be above the counsels and advice of others.
1 Thes 5:19 Quench not the Spirit. (KJV)
1 Thes 5:20 Despise not prophesyings. (KJV)
1 Thes 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. (KJV)
TEST ALL PROPHECY by submitting it to other prophets.
Check all prophecy against what God has already shown to you, and the fruits of the character of life in the one giving the message.
Matt 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. (KJV)
Matt 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? (KJV)
Matt 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. (KJV)
Matt 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. (KJV)
Matt 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. (KJV)
Matt 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. (KJV)
Matt 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. (KJV)
7.HOW DO WE KNOW WHAT IS FALSE ?
God will only provide, where He has first guided so that it is
vital to know His will.
The DEVIL'S VOICE is recognised by :-
(i) DOUBTS
Matt 4:3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. (KJV)
This challenged the Word just given to Jesus by God
Matt 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. (KJV)
(1) BAPTISM and TONGUES are presented to us as "misleading nonsense"
(2) Devil suggests GOD HAS FORGOTTEN us and is holding something back from us.
Satan told Eve she would not die:
Gen 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. (KJV)
She did not die physically but spiritually, by losing her DEPENDENCE
on God as a child for INDEPENDENCE by sense knowledge:
Gen 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. (KJV)
(3) Devil suggests you only "imagined " the experience.
KNOW you are God's child AND KNOW THE SCRIPTURES SO WELL THAT YOU LIVE BY THEM (Matt 4:4)
1 John 5:10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. (KJV)
1 John 5:11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. (KJV)
1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. (KJV)
1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: (KJV)
GOD will NEVER FORSAKE us:
Heb 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. (KJV)
Heb 13:6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. (KJV)
GOD does NOT give false Gifts:
Luke 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? (KJV)
TONGUES shows a GENUINE BIBLE BAPTISM
Acts 10:45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. (KJV)
Acts 10:46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, (KJV)
TRUST GOD'S PROMISES and continue to speak in tongues.
(ii) DEMONSTRATION IMPULSES.
Devil sets him on High pinnacle of Temple & suggests a miracle:
Matt 4:6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. (KJV)
(1) SCRIPTURE is used by Satan to push some big miracle and show off power in front of religious leaders of the Nation.
Do not be UNWISE is use of tongues and new gifts.
1 Cor 14:23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad? (KJV)
(2) WAIT on God's#time and place, following the leading of God in love .
1 Cor 12:31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way. (KJV)
1 Cor 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. (KJV)
1 Cor 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. (KJV)
1 Cor 13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. (KJV)
THINK OF OTHER PERSON NEEDING GIFT and how they will respond to what you offe r.
